- bronze
cast seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus pedestal, the left hand in dhyanamudra, the right in bhumisparsamudra, dressed in gathered robes with the right shoulder bare, the narrow face with serene expression flanked by long pierced earlobes, below a head of tight curls with a jewel crowning the ushnisha
Provenance
Acquired in China in the 1960s, and thence by descent.
Condition
There is a dent to the figure's chin, and numerous small dents and knocks to the figure's back, arms and left knee. There are also small dents to the edges of his robe, left thumb, ears, the bottom edge of the pedestal and some of the lotus petals. There is some light wear to the gilding. The base plate is missing. the base is slightly uneven.
