成化二十二年發心比丘興春南京造佛人金福成金川街三牌樓項伯本家住坐

There are losses to the tips of the ends of the scarves hanging from the figure's right. There is a crack to the central leaf of the figure's crown. There are two holes just above the lower rim of the base, but these appear to be for securing the figure to a stand. There is wear to the gilt-lacquer and pigments.

Inscribed figures of this type are rare, and the willow sprig and Buddhist wheel identify the figure as Guanyin. According to the inscription, the monk Xingchun had the figure made for devotee Xiangbo of Fucheng to be venerated in his home, and gives the devotee's address.
