Description

  • each 43cm. high;1ft. 5in.
with a baluster stem applied with seraphim on a concave-sided triform base also applied with seraphim and cast with scrolling foliage on flattened bun feet; together with a Dutch silver pricket candlestick, maker’s mark a crescent and two stars (Citroen no. 65), Haarlem, 1680, with a printed paper label on the underside` Collectie Jacob Gieling'

Condition

The pair: These are dirty and would benefit from a clean according taste. The candle-nozzles on both are warped as visible from the catalogue photograph. Casting crack in the stem of one but so minor it is hardly noticeable. On the same one the triple cherub head mount on the front of the scrolled foot is missing and there is a small hole at the side of one cherub head on the baluster stem. Small hole in the base of two feet on the same one. On the other the foot mount also missing. 0ld minor marks and dents and miniscule losses generally which are hardly noticeable. Some very minor areas of resoldering generally. Single one: In need of a clean. Slight warping to drip-pan. Old minor marks and dents commensurate with age and normal usage.
