Description

modelled as Neptune astride a large dolphin supported on a towering central trunk of applied seaweeds, clams and shells, above six large scallop shells edged in puce, surmounted on a separate stand encrusted with further shells, patch marks, some restoration

Condition

Some restoration to Neptune's left arm. Minor chip to one tip of crown. Metal trident is a replacement. Chip to inside rim of one of the shells on lower tier, approx. 2cm. by 1cm. Some specking and glaze imperfections to interior of shells. Minor losses to applied shells and seaweed. Base- some specking to glaze on top surface. Minor losses to applied shells and seaweed. Firing crack across base.
