  • Pen and grey ink and wash over black chalk;
    bears numbering in pen and brown ink, upper right:  D19 and also bears numbering, verso:  No = 422

Condition

Att. to Francesco de Mura: Light brown staining throughout sheet. Two holes at the left margin. A few creases in the paper at the right margin. Pen and ink and wash remain fresh and overall image still strong. Mary with Christ by the Cross: Brown staining lower right. Medium, recto is very fresh and strong. Black chalk on verso is quite faint and there are a number of brown stains, verso (227 by 168 mm). Follower of Solimena: Sheet is in good condition - medium is strong and fresh and sheet relatively free of stains. (215 by 284 mm).
