  • Both pen and grey ink and grey wash over red chalk;

Condition

Drawings: A) Partially laid down. Overall in good condition. A few light brown stains in the upper section of the sheet. A larger more prominent stain in the upper left corner. Medium remains fresh and strong. B) Partially laid down. Two revised areas to the left and right margin (amendments to the windows). These revisions appear to have been executed by the artist. Brown staining in the upper left corner and light scattered foxing throughout. Overall image is strong and medium remains fresh and vibrant. Etchings: The 3 plates by Jan Goeree with wide to narrow margins, in good condition apart from 'Luthersche Nieuwekerke' with a vertical repaired tear at left of lower edge and minor creasing at left edge, one of the 'Het Orgel in de Wester-kerke' impressions with the lower left corner lacking. 'Gezigt op het groote orgel' with wide margins, a few tears and remains of previous adhesive in the left margin, pale paper discoloration at sheet edges, otherwise in good condition. 'Les Orgues de la Grande Eglise S. Jean B. a Gouda' with narrow margins, in good condtion apart from pale scattered foxing, marginal nicks and minor creasing at sheet edges, pale paper discoloration. 'La representation de la bell orgue de leglise du Wester Kerck' with narrow margins, in good condition, the far left edge adhered to the backboard verso. Noach van der Meer - Sheet size: 360 by 467mm; 14¼ by 18 3/8 in With wide margins, with creasing and a few tears and nicks at the sheet edges, pale water-staining at the lower and right sheet edge, some surface soiling, a soft vertical crease (mainly visible verso). Each unframed.
