Condition

The relined canvas ever so slightly bubbles where it is attached to the stretcher in two places: upper right, by the frame, and lower centre. The paint surfac has a craquelure throughout, and there are very fine lines of beginning flaking throughout the composition. Missing flecks of paint in the part of the girl's red skirt, and two minor surface scratches on the far right hand side by the frame, and upper part, just by the frame. There is a more accentuated line of craquelure along the edge where the stretcher has put some pressure onto the canvas from the verso over time. Inspection under UV light shows only infilling of craquelure, the faces are untouched. This lot is offered in an oval wood frame painted dark brown, the natural-looking surface complimenting the outdoor scene depicted.
