the bright blue-glazed ground elaborately painted in white enamel with birds perched and in flight around a vase filled with flowers and sprays of foliage, the well and broad rim with further scrolling foliage and exotic birds, the reverse with stylised ferns on the blue ground, rim chips restored
Condition
large restored chips re-stuck and restored between 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock, clearly visible on reverse but hard to find on the front. Othwr typical minor chips and flakes.

A particularly large example of a celebrated type; these tour-de-force large dishes are to be found in both the Lyons and Nevers museum collections. A very closely similar example in the Musée Municipale de Nevers is illustrated by M.Taburet, La Faience de Nevers, p.81.
