Description
- SILVER
- 48cm, 18 3/4 in high
cast embossed and chased with flowers and rocaille ornament, branches screwing into the detachable nozzles, the bases and nozzles fully marked, the branches with lion of Holland marks
Condition
Bases and nozzles with maker's mark, Amsterdam town mark, Lion of Holland mark and date letter, branches with lion of Holland mark but probably original. In addition the pieces have the following marks. Bases and Nozzles, branches and branch sconces have post 1853 Dutch marks for old silver and post 1893 French control marks, the branch drippans have post 1853 Dutch control marks only. The bases had been filled with pitch which has now been removed, one base with two small holes, some repair to the branch drippans, marks are clear, wear commensurate with age, general condition is pretty good
