  • walnut
with an arched cartouche shaped padded back, arms and serpentine seat on cabriole legs terminating in scrolled feet, the frame carved with rocaille, flowers and foliage together with a carved walnut chair, mid 18th century, possibly LiƩgeois, with a cartouche shaped padded back above a serpentine padded seat on cabriole legs, the frame carved with rocaille, stylised scallopshells, flowers and foliage, the seat-rail with the inventory number in red SAM 983

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. Armchair: Joints sound and sturdy. Old minor marks, chips and scratches commensurate with age and normal usage together with old minor worm which appears to be no longer active. Chair: Joints sound and sturdy. Evidence of old minor worm which appears to be no longer active. Very attractive detail to the carving.
