Description

  • 12cm. high, 17cm. wide, 12cm. deep; 4¾in., 6½in., 4¾in.
the gilt-bronze handle issuing from a grotesque mask with a domed lid, the sides decorated with portrait medallions and shields, with an elaborate locking mechanism with Gothic style script, the key mounted by a putto, the whole covered in red velvet; velvet worn 

Condition

In otherwise good condition. Gilding with wear on the handle and heads and on the foliate bands and medallions in places. One of the notches on the key is missing but this could easily be restored.
