An Italian Murano glass chandelier, Venetian first half 19th century

with twelve scrolled candelarms, the whole decorated with flowers including tulips and leaves; formerly fitted for electricity

In overall good original condition. The chandelier is dirty and would benefit from a clean according to taste. The design and execution are most charming and it is rare to find tulips on this type of chandelier and was probably a special commission.There are some general scattered chips and minor losses. There is one twisted leaf on the corona which is missing but this is hardly noticeable and the tip of a leaf is missing and one arm is secured with black tape also on the corona section. Two bellflowers on the corona are in clear glass and lack the pink tip and are possible replacements.There are some minor losses also to the candlenozzles and drip-pans. In one small glass tubular section on one arm near the top there is an oval hole in the glass approx 3cm. long.The ribbed amethyst globular section on the stem is probably a later replacement. Some of the pink bellflowers hanging from the candlearms are possibly replacements as there is a slight variation in design of some of them but this is hardly noticeable,.
