Description
- kingwood, marble, gilt-bronze, oak
- 90.5cm. high, 152cm. wide, 67cm. deep; 2ft. 11¾in., 4ft. 11¾in., 2ft. 2in.
with a serpentine mottled peach, grey and white marble top above two short and one narrow short drawer, above two long drawers with acanthus leaf, rocaille and c-scroll cast escutcheons and knee mounts above a shaped apron with a stylised scallopshell on scrolled feet, the mounts with the crown ç poinçon
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. Old very minor marks, chips and scratches to the marble top especially along the rear edge and front right curved corner and some minor staining to the top. The piece has been rebacked and has had some internal restorations to the drawer supports which have been reveneered. Some old very minor restorations to the veneer. Some fine casting cracks in the mounts which are quite normal and hardly noticeable. Some later runners on the base of the drawers. There has been restoration to the reverse of the lockplates on the two long drawers.

Catalogue Note
The crowned ç poinçon was a tax mark used from 1745-49 on any alloy utilising the metal copper.
