Automatic movement and other functions in working order when cataloguing. Dial is very nice and clean, in very good condition. Case with light surface hairlines and a few very light scuffs around the bezel. Buckle with normal wear. Overall condition is considered as very good. Timepieces with world time or dual time functions gain their popularity ever since air travel has become frequent nowadays. The new F.P. Journe Octa UTC features the second time zone function. While it may sound simple, the two time measurement of this new timepiece is in fact not based on the commonly used GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) but UTC (Universal Time, Coordinated) which offers today a modern view of time zone division, for the majority, in full hours, directly linked to the real rotation of the earth and only slightly variable.

The mechanical excellence is complemented by the elegant design of the dial, which features off center time display, a retrograde power reserve, oversized date and an conventional graphical representation of the Earth showing the 24 standard, full-four time zones and taking into account summer and winter time. The blue hour and minute hands (and the date) indicate the local time. Once the local time is set, the wearer positions the second geographical region – indicated by the colorful globe – on “0″ for winter hour. The gold hand, which makes one complete rotation every 24 hours, automatically positions itself at the corresponding time for this region. The +1 /-1 graduation positions the specific region for summer hour linked to the geographical location of the user, depending if it is positioned east or west of the chosen zone.
