Description

The gold rectangular case with engraved linear decoration, with cabochon sapphire push-piece releasing a sprung flap folding back to reveal the cards beneath a pierced foliate scroll bracket, measuring approximately 90mm by 58mm by 6mm, signed Cartier, French assay and maker's marks.

Condition
French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Gross weight approximately 97.3 grams. Signed Cartier Paris - London, Deposé. numbered 1805 0000. Sapphire medium blue, typical inclusions visible under magnification. Spring and hinged opening mechanism in good order. Scratches and tarnish to metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
