Gold, ruby and diamond demi-parure, late 19th century

Comprising: a brooch and a pair of ear clips, each of cluster design set with mixed-cut rubies and circular-cut, cushion-shaped and rose diamonds, one diamond deficient, later clip and brooch pin fittings, later fitted case.

Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Rubies pinkish to purplish red, typical inclusions visible to naked eye, abrasions to facets and facet edges, one stone cracked. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 5.00 - 6.00 carats, stones bright and lively, one rose diamond deficient. Brooch and clip fittings later added, traces of solder to reverse. Scratches and tarnish to mounts consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
