The necklace set with baroque natural pearls and cushion-shaped diamonds connected by foxtail and knife-edge linking, length approximately 380mm; the earrings similarly set with baroque natural pearls, cushion-shaped and rose diamonds, later screw back fittings; each stamped with French assay and maker's marks for Mellerio, fitted case stamped Mellerio-Borgnis.
Condition
Maker's marks for Mellerio. French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Pearls of varying shapes, uneven surfaces, good to dull lustre. Diamond bright and lively. Clasp secure, safety chain. One screw back fitting slightly bent. Some scratches and tarnish to mounts consistent with age and wear. In good condition. Accompanied by fitted case stamped Mellerio-Borgnis, 6 rue d'Argenteuil, Paris, the exterior of the case stamped with the initials LSC, surmounted by a coronet.
