Description

  • jade, rock crystal
each side chased with peonies and prunus below a monogram formed from the letters ILH, the handles fashioned from pale celadon jade belt hooks carved with dragon head terminals and writhing chilong on the curved stems, the cover surmounted by knop made from a rock crystal seal with a lion finial, the base engraved I.L.V. Nov. 3rd 1934, Black, Star and Frost, 554B Sterling (2)

Condition

The silver urn and cover is slightly tarnished. The rock crystal lion has scattered minor nicks. The jade belthooks have not been inspected outside of the mounts. One belthook has a horizontal crack to the chilong's vapor, two legs and two sprigs. The other belthook is in good condition.
