couched in gold-wrapped threads with nine five-clawed dragons surrounded by multi-colored clouds, bats, auspicious objects, blossoms and emblems of the 'Eight Immortals', all enclosed within borders of crashing waves incorporating peony and chrysanthemum blossoms, clouds and terrestrial diagrams at the hem and sleeves, the dark blue collar band and cuffs with dragons and clouds above waves, the sleeve extensions of similar dark blue ribbed silk

Condition
The collar band and cuffs appear to be from the same period as the robe, but are associated and they are worn with losses to the couching. There are small repairs to the lower right front dragon, and the robe has been relined. There is some minor staining to the lower front hem.
