woven in bright colors with a scene depicting a pantheon of Daoist immortals and deities on a garden terrace with pine and peach trees issuing from rockwork, Xiwangmu and her attendants seated atop a phoenix descending to meet Shoulao and the Eight Daoist Immortals with cranes in flight above, below with a rushing river in which Magu navigates her log raft, with further groups of immortals standing along the shore bearing numerous gifts, mounted as a scroll

Acquired in China in the 1940s and thence by descent.
Condition
There is expected overall wear to the kesi. There are folds and tears to the paper, some areas tearing through the kesi with associated loss. There is a red stain to the top left corner visible in the catalogue illustration. The kesi is less red than illustrated in the catalogue.
