each of rectangular section, the center section carved with stylized taotie masks on each side, each facet of the flaring neck and the splayed lower section carved with handles suspending loose rings, a band of archaistic ruyi scroll around the rim and foot, the stone of pale celadon with apple-green splashes and russet inclusions (2)
Provenance
Acquired in China between the 1920s and 1930s and thence by descent.
Condition
The top corner of one vase has broken in two sections and restuck. There are minor nicks to the rim and footrim to both overall.
