each vessel of flattened ovoid form, carved all over in shallow relief with archaistic motifs, flanked by mythical-beast handles suspending loose rings below stylized dragons on the neck, one side carved in between the vases with a protruding taotie mask above a shaped panel enclosing the characters Chang Min (wishes for a long life), the reverse with a lion-mask above a shaped panel enclosing the characters Rong Hua, the conjoined covers held together by interlocking scrolls further suspending loose rings (2)

There are minor nicks to the interior of the cover, the rim of the foot, and scattered nicks to the extremities. The vase is in overall good condition.
