the ruyi-shaped head carved in low relief with a shou character encircled by four of the bajixiang (Eight Buddhist Emblems), the other four on the arched handle, the end of the shaft pierced with two holes for the tassle, the stone of an even celadon color with mottling 

Provenance

Acquired in China between the 1920s and 1930s and thence by descent.

Condition

The scepter is in overall good condition with a polished chip to one corner of the handle and some very minor nicks to the edges.
