  • stoneware, silk and softwood
with widely everted sides, applied with a lustrous blackish-brown glaze draining to a narrow hare's fur-like band just below the rim, the glaze on the exterior stopping two thirds of the way down revealing a layer of blackish brown slip falling to the edge above the small neatly pared unglazed foot ring

Condition

There is a fine haircrack running horizontally around the side approx 3 inches long. There are two fine haircracks running across the footrim, not visible on the interior. There is expected wear to the surface and the exterior has two small burst glaze bubbles.
