inset with three jade plaques, the largest depicting three sages on a terrace beneath pine trees, the mid-section of another sage and his attendant, and the smallest plaque with double gourds and leafy tendrils, the wooden shaft further decorated with small seal script shou characters inlaid with silver 

Condition

The head of the scepter has been off and put back together with some reinforcements. The jade plaques are later replacements and have been wired and glued to the shaft. There are some losses to the wooden shaft, particularly where the jades are inset. The end of lower section with a crack, a small drill hole and fitted with a metal hook. One jade plaque with a chip to the edge.
