the shallow rounded sides rising to a flared mouthrim, all supported on a short tapered footrim, the interior centred with a stylised floral medallion, the exterior decorated with a pair of auspicious lozenges (fangsheng) alternating with a pair of stylised lotus blossoms interlaced with curling leaves, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark within a double square
Condition
There is a small flake of approx. 0.3 cm to the outer rim with a short adjacent stained hairline measuring approx. 0.4 cm on the exterior. The neighbouring section of the rim has hence been slightly polished. There are also some typical pinholes and minute kiln grits, but the enamels have generally been well preserved.
