Description

the pear-shaped body rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck, set with a curved spout and loop handle, the exterior freely carved with scrolling lotus between double-line borders, all above a moulded lappet band, covered overall in a sea-green glaze stopping unevenly above the foot revealing the grey body, Japanese wood box

Condition

The ewer is in very good condition with the exception of a 1cm., long hairline firing crack to the base and light glaze scratches.
