Description
- gilt-copper
the large repoussé figure modelled seated on a separate lotus base, the hands held together supporting a vajra, wearing a simple dhoti and elaborate beaded jewellery, the face with meditative expression
Condition
This figure is in reasonably good condition, but there has been some damage to the top of the ushnisha and there is a split to the left hair pendant. There are a number of areas of loss to the gilding including the face, neck, the fingers, knees and toes. The area to the back of the figure has been left ungilded and there is a hole to the bicep of each arm and below the chest, which may have suspended something. There are two wide splits to the right edge and one to the left of the wood base. There is some wear to the underside of the base. There are also some nicks and scratches throughout the figure.
