Description

  • porcelain
of baluster form, painted with landscape roundels reserved on a ground of peony scroll between ruyi and petal-shaped lappet bands, all below a chevron band and a floral scroll around the neck, the domed cover similarly decorated and surmounted by a Buddhist lion finial

Condition

There is a 14cm vertical crack to the side of the vase and two shallow chips to the foot (2cm by 1cm and 1cm by 5mm) and a frit to the foot that has run into a glaze crack (approx 1cm by 1cm). There is some fritting and glaze chips to the rim. There are two areas of restoration to the rim of the cover (11cm by 1cm and 8cm by 1cm) and the lion finial has been restuck and has some restoration to its hind quarters.
