Description

  • porcelain
each with a spreading foot rising to a baluster body, painted with alternating vertical panels of retreats in mountainous river landscapes and peony and chrysanthemum amongst rockwork on an iron-red scroll ground with prunus and peony, below similar pomegranate and leaf-form panels at the neck, the domed covers similarly decorated below knopped finials, ornate European wood stands

Condition

One vase has a two cracks to the foot (4cm and 6cm). The other vase a 3cm by 2cm restoration to the foot to one corner. Both covers have been broken and restored and both finials have been re-attached. There is also crazing to the pale green enamel and some rubbing and loss to the white enamel throughout.
