Description

  • jade with wood stand
the flattened ovoid body rising from a stepped foot to a waisted neck with everted rim, flanked by a pair of angular scroll handles, carved in low relief to both faces with a stylised taotie mask, the stepped cover surmounted by a round knop, the stone of an even celadon tone, wood stand

Condition

The vase and cover are in good condition with the exception of several natural fissures to the stone, one with associated minor loss at the rim of the cover.
