the rounded sides rising from a tall flared foot to a lipped rim, carved in low relief with a band of stylised taotie masks, set with four well-modelled yingxiong handles suspending loose rings, the foot encircled by cicada and plantain lappets, the domed cover pierced with scrolling lotus below a chevron band, surmounted by a scaled dragon coiled around a flaming pearl, the smoothly polished stone of a pale celadon tone suffused with olive-green inclusions
Condition
This censer is in good condition, but there is a small 2mm by 1mm shall chip to the underside edge of the base, there are also some minor nicks to the rim and to the rim of the cover. There are also a number of flaws running through the cover and the base.
