carved standing with a young acolyte to his right, his left hand raised holding a staff tied with a double gourd, the right arm supporting a ruyi sceptre, dressed in loose fitting robes falling into neat pleats, his face with a benevolent expression framed by a tall forehead and long beard, wood stand

Condition

Shoulao's left hand has been broken and repaired and there is also damage and loss to the top of Shoulao's staff and a repaired break to the centre of it. There is also damage and loss (and glue remnants) to the left sleeve of the boy attendant (1cm by 8mm).There are four chips to the back of the robe and a number of cracks to the underside of the base running through and around his right foot (and 3cm up his leg to both sides) and one to his left foot.
