Description
- huanghuali wood
with a curving crestrail in five sections terminating in everted handgrips, above an S-shaped backsplat carved in low-relief with a ruyi-shaped panel, flanked by notched brackets, with a soft cane seat and moulded seat frame, on circular section legs joined by a shaped and beaded apron, flanked by long beaded-edge flange brackets secured by stepped box stretchers
Condition
The four legs may have been slightly reduced. The cane seat has been reinforced with pegs around the border and associated losses to the back side. The horseshoeback appears to be reinforced but to a lesser extent. There are some chips to the front left rail (largest 2x1cm). General wear to the foot and minor stains. Some minor age cracks and wood shrinkage.
