  • gilt bronze
the God of War seated on a rectangular bench with his hands resting on his knees, wearing robes with billowing sleeves beneath thick, elaborate armor detailed with dragon-form epaulets and incised leafy scrolls at the hem, his face with a fierce expression beneath the cloth cap tied with a ribbon.

Condition

One section of his beard missing, as visible in catalogue image. The remaining appear to be later attached. A break and associated loss to winged fabric on his right shoulder. Missing semi-precious stones to base. Wear to gilding.
