Description

  • gilt bronze
standing in graceful tribhanga on a tiered lotus plinth, the right hand raised to the chest in vitarkamudra and the left arm lowered holding a kalasa, wearing a dhoti decorated with stylised florets, the left shoulder draped over with a deer skin, the face with a benevolent expression flanked by long ears, the hair piled up in a tall chignon

Condition

A loss to the figure's headdress or tiara with only a small square aperture visible at the crown of the head. The silver inlay oxidised and oxidation has bled slightly onto the gilt bronze surface. Wear and rubbing to the gilt bronze. Small chips and nicks to the foot.
