Description

  • porcelain
modelled standing on a bed of scrolling ruyi clouds, the arms lowered supporting a ruyi sceptre, dressed in loose fitting robes falling into elegant folds and opening at the chest revealing a beaded lotus necklace, the face with a meditative expression surmounted by a high chignon with lotus ornament, covered overall in an opaque ivory-white glaze, the reverse impressed with a seal mark reading Boji yuren (Virtue extends to all, even fishermen)

Condition

The figure is in good condition with the exception of re-attachment of the left hand and a 5mm., horizontal firing hairline to the upper left arm. There is loss to the finger tips on the right hand.
