- gilt bronze cloisonne enamel and paulownia wood box
of quatrelobed form, rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck flanked by a pair of gilt-bronze elephant handles, the exterior brightly decorated with stylised lotus sprays above lappet and ruyi bands, all below stylised floral sprays below ruyi heads, the rim, shoulder and foot encircled by raised gilt-bronze fillets, Japanese wood box
Provenance
Collection of Ueda Chuemon, acquired from Mr. Uemura who was the castellan in Nara prefecture during Edo period (according to box).
Condition
The vase is in very good condition with the exception of some light rubbing to the gilded decoration.
Please note there is a label on the box stating: Collection of Ueda Chuemon, acquired from Mr. Uemura who was the castellan in Nara prefecture during Edo period.
