the slender tapering body rising from a spreading foot to a short waisted neck, painted around the exterior with scholars engaged in artistic pursuits, all within a screened and fenced garden with trees issuing from rockwork, the base inscribed with an apocryphal six-character Jiajing mark
Condition
The vase has a reduced neck, a 1cm., long hairline rim crack, a 2.5cm., deep vertical scratch to the shoulder and minor glaze firing imperfections including tiny iron spots.
