Description

the round shouldered tapering body rising from a recessed base to a short narrow waisted neck with dished everted rim, freely carved and incised through the creamy white slip around the exterior with large leafy peony branches between petal bands at the foot and encircling the neck
Condition
The vase is in good condition with the exception of an 11cm., long hairline body crack extending vertically from the foot, an 11cm., long vertical firing line to the body, smaller hairline firing lines to the body and rim, several vertical glaze streaks running from the shoulder to the foot, minor glaze firing imperfections and uneven potting to the edge of the rim.
