- gilt bronze
cast seated in dhyanasana on a double lotus base, the hands held to the chest in dharmacakramudra, holding leafy stems of uptala lotuses rising above the shoulders, wearing a dhoti tied at the waist, the bare chest embellished with beaded jewellery, the face with a serene expression, surmounted by a five-leaf diadem
Condition
The base unsealed. The reverse of the base with a dent to the middle-left, and some horizontal cracks (longest measuring approx. 3.7cm). The lower stems of the uptala lotuses are missing. Missing inlaid stones. Traces of silver inlay to the crown and collar band. Casting flaws. Minor nicks to the extremities. General surface wear and rubbing to the gilding, particularly along the extremities.
