of curved tapering form, carved in the round with a recumbent chilong atop, above another chilong in relief clambering near the tip, the stone of a pale celadon-white tone with russet markings

Condition

The xi is in a very good condition, with the exception of minute nibbling along the extremities, such as the tail of the clambering chilong. There is a russet vein near the top, with associated flakes. The stone is of a slightly greyer tone compared to the catalogue illustration.
