The gourd has minor chips along the mouthrim, largest measuring 0.2x0.1cm. There are natural nicks and dents to the surface of the gourd, including a 0.2x0.2cm loss to the base. There are minor short age cracks to the reticulated carving on the fitted ivory cover.
