Description

  • rock crystal
naturalistically carved in the form of a hollowed bamboo stem, the exterior decorated with a scholar reclining beneath a gnarled prunus tree and bamboo below a flying geese, the base with a square seal reading Xingyouheng Tang (Hall of Constancy), the transparent crystal streaked with milky-white inclusions

Condition

There is a chip to the petals of one prunus flower to the exterior below the rim (0.1x0.1cm). There is a circa 10cm vein running from one side across the base to the other. Minor nicks along the extremities. Minor surface wear. Some minor inclusions and some russet flecks near the bottom.
