  • gold splashed bronze
the bombé body rising from three cabriole legs to a short neck and everted rim, flanked by a pair of well-modelled scaly chilong with curled tails forming the handle, the body patinated to a reddish chocolate-brown tone and decorated in irregular splashes of gold, impressed to the base with an apocryphal Xuande mark

Condition

The interior has a 4x0.5cm area of depression, and extensive scratches near it. There are minor nicks along the extremities and small pits to the surface of the censer. Apart from minor dents to the surface and rubbing to the patina, the censer is in good condition.
