Description
- Lacquer, jade and wood
each rectangular black lacquer panel inlaid with jade and agate plaques, variously depicting archaic vessels, seals and carvings, further embellished with inlaid wood stands and hardstone leafy floral stems, carved wood frame
Condition
The panel with the gu vase has extensive cracks running to the upper, left and bottom edge, with associated flakes. There are minor vertical age cracks to the surface. The top edge has a 0.5x0.4cm chip near the middle, and other minor flakes on the surface. There are chips to the extremities of the jade carvings.
The other panel has similar age cracks along the left and bottom edge. There are minor flakes to the lacquer on the surface (largest measuring approx. 0.2x0.2cm).
