Description

  • jade and gilt metal
the straight sides divided into twelve facets, carved in low relief with scrolling hibiscus above a chevron band, the domed cover similarly decorated with stylised floral sprays radiating from a stylised flowerhead with a gilt-metal centre, all bordered by a meandering floral scroll, the stone of a pale celadon tone suffused with snowflake-white and speckled black inclusions

Condition

This box and cover is in good condition but there are some small nicks to the rims of the box and cover and to the edge of the base and the gilt metal finial is a later replacement.
