Description

  • parcel gilt bronze
the top cast in low relief with flowering magnolia and prunus branches, the box similarly decorated, patinated to an olive-green tone with traces of gilt, the base inscribed with a seal mark reading Hu Wenming zhi (Made by Hu Wenming)

Condition

There is a crack to the edge of the cover and a small repair to the interior of this area. There is also a light fracture/crack running from the upper left corner of the mark through the foot. There are also some slight casting inconsistencies/nicks to the interior of the cover and the exterior base and to the rims of the box and cover. There is also areas of gilt loss and rubbing throughout.
