the shallow rounded sides rising from a tapering foot to an everted rim, enamelled to the interior with a Kakiemon-style design of quail beneath overhanging flowers, all within a band of four quatrefoil panels enclosing pairs of quail and reserved on a dense prunus and cracked-ice ground, the exterior entirely plain
Condition
The foot ring pierced with two 3mm diameter apertures to enable the dish to be suspended on the wall; a 9mm shallow chip to foot ring and numerous small firing cracks to the base. Other minor firing imperfections elsewhere and some rubbing to the iron-red enamels, as visible in the catalogue image.
