the barrel shaped body rising from a flat base to an incurved rim, painted around the exterior with a quatrefoil band enclosing lotus, all between scroll and lotus lappet bands; together with a blue and white hookah base, Qing dynasty, Shunzhi period

Condition

The jar with a 5mm chip to the inner rim; a 9mm horizontal hairline or bruise to the inner rim and another 7mm crack to the rim. Otherwise in good general condition with minor surface wear. The hookah base with a large body crack cutting across the base and extending up two sides of the body stopping 37mm short of the rim on one side, and 39mm on the other. The painting slightly blurred, with typical firing imperfections.
